Rena Boggaram

Rena Boggaram has taught beginner group classes at the Jai Govinda Dance Academy since 2003. She completed her arangetram with the Academy in 2000, and has also trained with bharata natyam gurus U.S. Krishna Rao, Shridhar and Anuradha Shridhar, and Vijaya Lakshmi. Rena is also an accomplished kathak dancer, completing her nrityangan (kathak graduation) with Madhu Khare in 2002. She has trained with kathak instructors Bhirju Maharaj, Saswati Sen, and Maulik Shah

In both 2003 and 2004, Rena won first place in the Pacific West Performing Arts Competition. She performed as a professional dancer in Nadopasana, a Mandala Arts and Culture production that premiered at the Vancouver Playhouse in 2004. She has also performed at various community and official events, including a performance on India Independence Day at the Consulate General of India. Rena holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia.
